After completing a Bachelor of Arts at Carleton University, he began a degree in Common Law from the University of Ottawa. John received his call to the bar in 1973. John lives with his wife Anna, an artist, in Unionville, Ontario.

John Macaulay, is a very decent man who actually strives to help people. He is down to earth, very straight forward, and a good listener and communicator. I found John by chance by reading his reviews and he has lived up to what I was expecting and has obviously earned his good reputation. When it comes to legal representation; trust, clarity and competence are key factors expected as a customer, and I feel quite confident being represented by John Macaulay.
Mr. Macaulay was extremely professional and kind. He provided important advice and was genuinely concerned about our situation. I would highly recommend him.
Worst lawyer in town... stay away!!!!Still trash... not in the office and doesnt return emails... secretaries in the office never know his whereabouts...Claims does not know who I am but has my info 3 contact me... but chooses 2 answer on google instead of contacting me directly.Has dodged me and my questions for 2 years... guess this is the only way you can get a response from him...Not recommended
Cannot say enough about Mr. Macaulay, his professionalism, and kindness are a number 10 in my books. He was amazing dealing with my 90 year old mother and even came to her home to go through some paperwork. I highly recommend Mr. Macaulay!
I HIGHLY recommend calling John if you are looking for an estate lawyer who is attentive to your needs and concerns. A++++ communication.My father passed away and I had some questions regarding obtaining a Certificate of Appointment/Probate. After calling/emailing 5 other estate lawyers in the Scarborough/Toronto area, John Macaulay was the only one who called me back that same day. In fact he called me back within 5 minutes of me sending him an email.I found him to be extremely professional, knowledgeable and willing to walk that extra mile to meet your needs. I would gladly recommend him to all my friends and family!
Called to inquire whether he handled a particular type of law. His assistant advised he did not but took my name & number. 10 minutes later Mr. Macaulay called me & invited me over to see if he could help. Mr. Macaulay saw me & went through my paperwork & referred me to a firm that is A1. Mr. Macaulay and staff are Professional, kind & courteous. I will be using his services very soon!
