Khalil is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law and McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Business and is the founder and principal lawyer of MRK Law. Mina relies on not only his legal background, but also his strong finance and accounting background to solve his clients’ legal problems. Since his call to the bar in 2014, Mina has gained extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, employment law, civil litigation, real estate law, and estate planning law. ​ Mina’s litigation practice is heavily focused on employment law and workplace disputes. In particular, Mina represents both employees and employers in all aspects of workplace litigation and dispute resolution, including constructive and wrongful dismissal, termination for cause, workplace discrimination, harassments and bullying,. Mina also advises employers on setup of workplace policies and procedures, employment or independent contractor agreements, and on hiring and dismissal of employees and independent contractors. Mina has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, and various administrative tribunals. ​ In his transactional practice, Mina is committed to helping small businesses manage all phases from startup to growth and succession planning. He also enjoys helping his clients handle the day to day challenges all small businesses face. He has experience acting for and advising small business owners on corporate formations and structuring, including the formation of professional corporations, corporate governance, drafting and negotiating a variety of shareholder agreements and contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, business succession and estate planning, employment matters, dispute resolution, and providing general legal advice. Mina has developed expertise in representing and advising health care providers, including dental, medical, retail pharmacy, veterinary, chiropractic, massage therapy, physiotherapy, & denturism practitioners on startup, purchase and sale of clinics, employment and associate contracts, managing employee hiring and dismissal, commercial leasing, shared expense agreements, and banner agreements. Mina also has extensive experience in real estate law, and has represented first time home buyers, sophisticated real estate investors, corporations, and institutional and private lenders in closing a high volume of residential and commercial purchase, sale, and mortgage transactions.
